Champagne Cuddles has gone extremely close in her two most recent starts without taking the win, but remains an outright $3.30 favourite in 2017 Tea Rose Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Champagne Cuddles debuted to racing for a dominant win in the Pierro Plate (1100m) at Rosehill in spring last year, but was immediately returned to the paddock with a view towards 2017 targets.

Resuming in June for another comfortable win in the Club Redfern Plate (1000m), the Not A Single Doubt filly was freshened-up before finishing third behind Formality in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 19th.

Champagne Cuddles may require some early luck from barrier 9, but appears as though she will relish a step up to 1400m and should prove extremely difficult to beat.

Tulip was unlucky not return to winning form in his first-up run in Victoria, but she has drawn ideally into the Tea Rose Stakes field and has the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Tulip was one of the most consistent performers of her age group through the recent Autumn Carnival; winning the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m), finishing fourth in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and in the places in both the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) and Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).

Having stormed home to finish an agonizingly-close second behind Roomooz in the talent-rich Johnnie Walker Plate (1200m) first-up on August 26th, the Pierro filly will only improve into this race and could be the horse to beat.

Godolphin filly Alizee is likely to have a fitness edge on most of her rivals leading into the Tea Rose Stakes and she subsequently occupies the third line of betting at $7 odds.

Alizee debuted to racing for fourth in a 1000m sprint at Randwick on February 15th, but responded with a smart run for second behind Tulip in the Magic Night Stakes.

Sent to the paddock after she finishing fifth in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) on Day 1 of The Championships, the Sepoy filly resumed for a maiden race win at Warwick Farm on August 2nd, before running second in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Last seen finishing fourth in the Furious Stakes, there isn’t much to say that Alizee won’t be in the finish of the Tea Rose Stakes.
