The Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) is set to run at Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday September 22.
Ten three-year-old fillies have nominated for the event that was won by New South Wales horse of the year Streama in 2011.
Included in the nominations is Dear Demi, who won the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1400m) and finished 3rd in the Group 3 Silver Shadow (1200m).
Dear Demi has a long campaign ahead of her and will run in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) and Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) later in the spring.
Another filly nominated for the Tea Rose Stakes is the Bart Cummings-trained Norzita.
The Thorn Park filly ran a strong second behind undefeated Proisir at Rosehill a fortnight ago and looked as if she was searching for more ground.
Darley filly Meidung has been nominated for the Tea Rose Stakes and connections will be desperate for the three-time Group race place getter to break through for a maiden Group race victory.
The Peter Snowden-trained three-year-old has finished outside the placing’s just once in her racing career and is another horse that should be suited by the step up to 1500m.
Also included in the 2012 Tea Rose nominations are Flying Snitzel, Jade Marauder, Longport and Chez Harmony.
